ico_ztlWHAT IS THE RESTRICTED TRAFFIC AREA (ZTL)?

The ZTL Bus is a restricted traffic area that stretches across the whole of the municipal territory of Cavallino-Treporti. It was introduced by the Municipal Administration definitively as of 22nd January 2008, after a trial period, for the application of the Urban Traffic General Plan.

The ZTL was set up with the precise intention of regulating the extraordinary tourist flow and promoting a culture of mobility connected with environmental protection.
All tourist buses, with more than sixteen passenger seats, which access and transit in the municipal territory of Cavallino-Treporti, must be equipped with a permit to be purchased at the Cavallino Check Point, located in via Fausta 397 (market area), or the ATVO bus station ticket office in Jesolo, or using the online service.

The pass must be displayed on the front windscreen of the bus, where it is clearly visible, and allows transit in the municipal territory until midnight on the day for which it was purchased. Only for the tariff for the buses driving to the hotel/campsite the validity of the permit expires at 12.00am on the following day of the last day of validity (see also the Tariffs section). The permits can be bought the same day for transit or in advance.

The Municipal Administration has envisaged reduced rates for vehicles that exclusively transport tourists staying in the accommodation facilities in the municipalities of Cavallino-Treporti and Jesolo. Other reduced rates are envisaged for vehicles with reduced emissions (Euro 6) and for buses that transport students on school trips. Tourist buses in the exempt categories must also make sure they equip themselves with a permit.

WHERE THE ZTL IS IN FORCE

The ZTL is in force across the whole of the municipal territory up to the perimeter that coincides with the municipal boundary of Cavallino-Treporti.
Tourist buses requiring permits can only transit along the following routes:

  • A) for the Punta Sabbioni terminal: S.P. 42 Fausta;
  • B) for the Treporti terminal: S.P. 42 Fausta up to the residential area of Ca'Savio, then Via Treportina - Via della Ricevitoria;
  • C) other locations along the coast: S.P. 42 Fausta - route along the shortest road allowed for bus transit in order to reach the chosen location.
